Fruity and Smoky - Icho (Hakko Wakocha - light oxidation amber finish)

from 6.50

Name: Fruity and Smokey

Variety: Icho (hakko wakocha amber finish)

Origin: Shizuoka

Tea maker: Toshifumi Takeuchi

Harvest: 2014

When you pour hot water over this tea leaves, nice sweet aroma rises.  This is also make with a blend of tea leaves primarily grown for making green tea.  I like the black tea made with tea leaves meant for green tea, as they are more tannic and asid, and robost, that contribute to making the black tea rich and complex.  This one has charcol undertone, it's his signature perhaps.  This makes this black tea very unique.  He is a young tea farmer decided to convert his tea farm he inherited into making black teas.  His humble but tenatious spirit is reflected in tea. I want to see this tea maker grow.  I am already looking forward to tasting teas he is going to make next season.
